Breaking in the Gloves....

To fill you in, I've started a program with La Boxing.
Now I work out, maybe 3 days a week, more If I'm audition for swimsuit shoots or certain parts.( less if Im being lazy lol)
I've done all sorts of sports, Cheerleading and Cross country, some volleyball and soccer, track. I bought several DVD systems, Turbo-jam, Brazilian butt lift, and anything you could find at Target store for 10 dollars.( with endless "beach friendly" promises)
I love a new challenge, a new running route, a new DVD, a cardio machine I haven't tried, etc. Changing things gives my body a jolt and keeps me exercising( we all need some kind of motivation right?)
When I'm sore, I feel like its my bodies way of giving me a pat of the back.:)
La Boxing, wasn't anything I could have prepared myself for. Here I was, thinking it wouldn't be to far off, or harder than anything I've done before. I run 5-7 miles on a regular bases, up-hill, with weights, how hard could this be? I'm in shape? Right?
I was in for a real treat!!
To start, I was 20 minutes late to the class. The 91 is awesome at 5pm.:)

But I jumped in at about 5:40 and finished out the class. I was so tired, but felt amazing.
So I thought I'd stay and attend the 6:30 class. (Crack head right?) lol.
My first reaction was, how friendly and personal the gym and class were. To be able to just jump in like that was refreshing. Who isn't late from time to time? Let's get real ladies, were busy.
Even getting half of the first class in, I would have been satisfied.
The women to men radio was pretty even, which was also refreshing. Ever attend one of those classes with clicky women with matching outfits? Hahah ( im all about cute outfits, but sometimes? really?lol), nothing kills workout motivation than a situation like that.
These women were here to work, as were the men, which was encouraging.
The class was also like have a personal training session, the instructor, made his rounds, and helped each class member and encouraged them to work harder.
I felt at times I was in an episode of the " Biggest Loser". lol The instructor kept you keepin on.
About every one to three minutes or so, we changed what we were doing. Which gave the workout an element of cardio that is unlike anything I'd have ever done.
To sum it up, I am sore sore sore!! Which feels amazing. I'm sore in places I didn't know I could get sore, muscles I had never felt before. Places on my rear that I didn't know could be worked on. Hurts so good.:)

Be a Super Woman!!:)

What woman doesn't love a spa day? Pedicures, manicures, massages, facials, etc...
But how many of us can honestly afford it ( not on plastic anyway..teehee.)and actually have time to go?
Between classes and a full work schedule, or those of you chasing children, cleaning up after children and/or husbands, or just don't have a budget that fits " spa day" every month. I'd say that's probably most of you hard working women.
The harder a woman works, the more pampering she needs? Right? But in most cases harder working= less time for ourselves.( why did we push for equal rights again? haha jk!!!)

So, I enjoy pampering, I enjoy beautiful skin, but I also enjoy being EFFICIENT( super woman, duh!:)). Here are a few at home facials you can do. It's soo easy, All Natural ( MY FAV.) and, you can apply them and fold laundry, make phone calls, ( speaker phone.. duh!)make dinner, clean, or just relax.

These are a few of my fav. All ingredients you already have.

Banana Avocado Mask:
Ingredients:
1/2 ripe Banana ( you can use slightly brown as well)
1/2 ripe avocado ( the softer the better)
2 tbsp unflavored full fat yogurt( FAGE SOO good, and so versatile)
1 tsp olive oil

Leave on for 20-30 minutes or so!( take a bath, shave your legs, or do things you have to do)

HERES MY FAVORITE, I try to do it once a week or so.
Best for DRY skin:
EGG WHITE Mask
Ingredients:
1 Egg white,
1 tsp of water

beat as your making scrambled eggs, and apply with your fingers ( over the sink, you don't want to get raw egg all over).
Wait until it gets hard, 15-20 minutes or so. and rinse with warm water and wash cloth. Best to do before bed, wake up with tight, firm and moist skin.:)

Grapefruit and Avocado
Ingredients:
1/2 graprefruit
1/2 avocado
1 tbsp of honey
1 egg white
Put in blender, mix until smooth. Squeeze grapefruit juice into blender with avocado, honey and egg white. This one smells soo wonderful. cover entire face and leave for 15-20 minutes. Rinse with warm water.

This makes alot, so you can put the rest in your hair, while in the bathtub.:) Does wonders, I promise.:)

When you feel beautiful, and relaxed, we are harder workers, better friends, loving spouses, and happy. Take the time for yourself, squeeze it in however you can.

And of course, another empowering woman song.:)

Wild Magnolias

Whew, what a week it has been but how I am so thankful for it.
First I want to share this song. Its on Carrie Underwoods new cd. I love what she stands for anyhow, and this song just really gives me goosebumps and makes me think I can save the world:)
We have all had those moments when the alarm doesn't go off and we end up sitting up like that old board game " Don't wake Daddy", not so bright eyed and bushy tailed, frantic!
Well I had worked at the night club, got home around 3am, and had to be in LA at 9am, meaning having left by 6am. Unfortunately, I happen to wake up at 7am.
So, shower, grab my coffee and make up and hit the road. Hair still soaked, did a traffic jam make-up job, and I was feeling a lil down.. cuz here I was, going on a Hair product callback, and I didn't even have time to blown dry my hair.
However, I turned Miss Carrie on, to number 6, and blow drying my hair VIA Sunroof, didn't seem so bad.

Turns out, this song, put a lil pep in my step, not only did I get cast for one commercial, but they called me a few weeks later to do another commercial for them. Through power of prayer and a lil " feel good" concert via steering wheel while in route, all things are possible!!:)
Thank you Miss Carrie Underwood.

Also, Thanks to Miss Megan Dixon who inspired me to continue blogging.:)

"Crazy Dreams"

Hello you long shots
You dark horse runners
Hairbrush singers, dashboard drummers
Hello you wild magnolias
Just waiting to bloom

There's a little bit of all that inside of me and you
Thank God even crazy dreams come true

I stood at the bottom of some walls I thought I couldn't climb
I felt like Cinderella at the ball just running out of time
So I know how it feels to be afraid
Think that it's all gonna slip away
Hold on, hold on

Here's to you free souls, you firefly chasers
Tree climbers, porch swingers, air guitar players
Here's to you fearless dancers, shaking walls in your bedrooms

There's a lot of wonder left inside of me and you
Thank God even crazy dreams come true

Never let a bad day be enough
To go and talk you in to giving up
Sometimes everybody feels like you
Oh, feels like you, just like you
Yeah

I've met some go-getters
Some difference makers
Small town heroes, and big chance takers
I've met some young hearts with something to prove
Oh, yeah

Here's to you long shots
You dark horse runners
Hairbrush singers, and dashboard drummers
Here's to you wild magnolias
Just waiting to bloom

There's a little bit of all that inside of me and you
Thank God even crazy dreams come true
Thank God even crazy dreams come true
Yeah

This song is so inspiring, living in CA doing things I never knew I loved or had a passion for. I am so thankful for songs like these, that maybe, just even for a few moments, makes us all feel capable of obtaining things we can't even imagine.

Thank you Carrie Underwood.

WHY NOT?

What IS important? What reaaaaally matters? At the end of the day, what does it all come down to?
I've forever been in love with the Alicia Keys song.. " If I ain't got you". I used to simply enjoy the song, it became my wedding song, and the lyrics continue to surprise me and gain more meaning to my life as time goes on.

Again, I ask the question, what is important? The popular response is, family, work, health, success, education, money...
I guess the correct answer lies within each individual as a measure of some sort of happiness.
I often have to remind myself, before going to work, or an audition, life isn't about clocking in and clocking out, paying bills and moving up a ladder. Is that all there is to each week, each schedule, each dollar earned?
LIFE has nothing to do with the job you are doing, or WHAT you are doing, but the people you are doing it with. The individual who crosses your path on any given day.
Isn't building relationships and challenging our friends to better themselves, so much more rewarding than a dollar earned and a new_________.Fill in blank... new shoes, car, expensive watches, whatever your vice.

If you stop and look around you, i.e. grocery store, your place of work, tables around you at a restaurant, we've lost the sense of importance. So much so, that were rude to people, to a point where being on your cellphone at the dinner table is becoming acceptable.
Is that text in the grocery store check-out line more important than giving the clerk a smile to brighten their day, Or checking your facebook "notifications" while your significant other is telling you great news?
What happened to being rewarded in life by lifting each other up? We are a nation that finds a full inbox( texting, email, facebook, twitter) rewarding enough. (I love those little red numbers as the next person... don't get me wrong).
We are all becoming so emotionally disconnected, as the world gets more viraly connected.
It is as though our generation is in a huge race, to see who can want more, have more, get more, but were forgetting how to GIVE MORE.
I encourage you, to encourage those around you. Why not? Be friendly to those serving you, and those whom you are serving. Treat your bosses with respect as well as the woman whos frying your fries.WHY NOT?
Listen, to those you love and those you don't. No one ever learned anything from talking. Listen, really Listen.

What is important, at the end of the day, what is important?
"Respect the ones you love, care about those you don't know, attempt to understand the misunderstood." Ivy Carnegie, WHY NOT????

be.. uncomfortable

Hello Bloggers,
This is all so new to me. I feel as though I am in a different country trying to order food. I know exactly what I want, I just don't know how to communicate it.
I am trying to write a blog, add this photo, and that, I just don't know what buttons to push or things to edit. Soon, I WILL get the hang of it, and hopefully stick to it.
I am divided on how exactly to approach my blog. Do I lay it all out there similar to a journal? Do I update friends, family relatives on life? Do I express my beliefs? I am unsure on this as well but I feel as though it will all come together, as life typically does.
I am very intimidated by friends, family, who have already created theirs. It is hard to mold something when something so similar has already been molded. It is a little frightening, will mine be as good? As creative? Will it be a waste of time? Will it help my career, as those " in the business" say it is suppose to. Will it even get read by anyone other than me? All these questions raise so much anxiety. Is their such thing as " new blogger anxiety"? haha.
I am excited and will do my best to update, I'd love to hear feed back and read other bloggers as well. Take care.
